Cold-Fighting Recipe

I've been seeing a lot of patients with annoying cold symptoms lately, probably due to all these rapidly shifting weather patterns. At the first sign of a cold, I whip up a batch of this special recipe and it works like magic: I'll sweat a little, go to bed, and wake up feeling completely healthy. It's super easy, quick, and tastes delicious (especially if you're a fan of spicy food, as I am). Here it is:

  • Ginger, sliced thin
  • honey
  • lemon
  • clove
  • cinnamon
  • cayenne pepper
  • hot water

*optional: a healthy shot of whiskey :)

Mix all of the above ingredients and let it sit until the ginger becomes soft enough to chew, then eat it after you are finished drinking the liquid part. You will SWEAT (especially if you add the whiskey). Keep yourself warm and let it happen. Every time I drink this, I wake up with clear sinuses, and clear head, and no aches. DON'T drink this if you are prone to heat symptoms, such as hot flashes, as it may exacerbate the issue.
