What Can You Accomplish In 30 Days? Day 9

I like alcohol...in moderation, of course. I don't go crazy with it, but there is nothing like a nice glass of wine to end a stressful day. Notice that I said a glass, not a bottle. Lately, I've noticed my tastes veering toward harder stuff. Now, again, this doesn't mean that I drink every day, or that I have a bottle of Jack before bed. When I do go out for social occasions, though, I've started to drink cocktails rather than wine. And here is what I've observed: dehydration and depression the day after. I think that the depression might have to do with the inevitable sugar crash that hard alcohol leads to. As for the dehydration...well, we all know that alcohol dehydrates the body, and it is more noticeable after consuming drinks that have a higher alcohol level.

So, today my goal is to go back to wine, on a permanent basis. If I am going to have a drink, it should have at least some sort of health benefit. I can have a glass of wine, relax, and feel great when I wake up in the morning. It works out perfectly! A perfect example of another small but significant lifestyle change that will ultimately lead to better health...
