I have to admit, I've been a bit cranky lately. What can I say-it's been a few weeks since my last acupuncture appointment, and my Liver needs some serious work. This morning I woke up to raindrops falling on my head (I accidentally left the skylight over my bed open last night), a freezing apartment, and a sore throat/runny nose. I also woke up to cat poop smeared all over my bathroom floor. I wallowed in my misery for a few minutes, then decided to stop being such a baby and to start focusing on the positive. Sometimes you just need to sit down and reassess how things are going in your life. When I do the math, things are actually pretty good-well, aside from my wet bed.
I think that we all need a mental reset button for mornings like this. A button to push that gives you a start-over option. To get myself back into happy mode, I sat down and ignored the rain, sniffles, and wet spot, and thought of a few things that I am grateful for.
5 Things That I Am Grateful For Today:
1. Both of my jobs have brought so many fascinating and beautiful characters into my life. 2. Occasionally, I can completely change someone's life. 3. I will be 36 next month, and I hope to have many more years ahead of me. However, if I died tomorrow, I could honestly say that I have almost no regrets about missed opportunities and unfulfilled dreams. 4. I'm grateful that I spend roughly 60-70% of my life laughing-usually at myself. 5. Two words: pumpkin martinis.
What are YOU grateful for?
