Honestly, it's hard to focus on writing anything today, because I'm too distracted by the sunlight and fresh air. Remember a few short weeks ago, fellow East-Coasters, when we never thought we'd see sunlight again? Finally, it's here! Maybe our goal today should be to use this as an example of how time passes. Sure, that seems like an obvious statement, but we always seem to forget it. When we are in pain, suffering, or in some sort of miserable situation, we forget that it will pass, as everything does. |

I think I've finally got my days situated...my weekend away completely threw me off. Day 17 it is.. Today's plan is to give a piece of advice to someone in need. There's nothing as effective as giving a piece of good advice to keep you feeling wise, and to make someone else feel special enough to be gifted with that wisdom. Note, however, that I specified the term "good advice." There is a very important protocol to follow involving giving advice. |

Today my goal was to do something outside of my normal behavior, something that people wouldn't expect me to do. I encourage all of you to try this. It's fun to change things up once in a while..just don't end up in jail, or fired. And I absolve myself of responsibility for whatever wacky hijinks you engage in today. As we all know from reading my blog, I'm not one for the more esoteric styles of acupuncture. Although I'm pretty open-minded, I have spent a lot of time distinguishing myself from energetic healers and hippies. |

My last few blog posts have been super-short due to a crazy schedule-I've been in Connecticut visiting family and friends over the past few days. Fear not, there is exciting stuff coming soon. Tomorrow I have an energetic cleansing, to sop up all that pesky spiritual filth. I've never gotten one before, so I have no idea what to expect...stay tuned to read all about it!

Today, think of one thing in your diet to eliminate for a week, and see how you feel. It could be a catalyst to more long-terms changes in your health. Take baby steps. For example, don't vow to give up carbs forever, or even for a month-you'll get so sick of all the things you are missing, you are already setting yourself up for defeat. Instead, give up the whites (bread, sugar, pasta) for a single week. I guarantee you will feel lighter, more energetic, and less bloated within three days. |

Today's goal is to take advantage of the opportunity to spend time with friends and family, no matter what you are celebrating....enjoy the holiday weekend!

In the spirit of the holiday, today our goal is to avoid the curse of expectation...your own, and those of others. Every holiday I build up this ambitious plan in my mind about how things are going to go so perfectly...and every holiday I seem to be disappointed. This weekend, I'm simply going to let things be, and I suggest you all do the same. Just enjoy the moment for what it is, rather than aiming for some perfect ideal you were brainwashed into by 80's sitcoms. |

Today is Earth Day, but I'm not going to rant about recycling or saving the environment like everyone else is today. We listen to enough of that on a daily basis. In fact, if you read the news, watch television, or have even minimal access to the internet, you're probably convinced we only have a few months of enjoying the bounties of Earth before it implodes. I know that there have been a lot of natural disasters lately, but that has been the case since the beginning of time. |

Today's goal: go on an endorphin hunt. I've talked a little about endorphins in my posts about acupuncture for weight-loss. For those of you who are unfamiliar, endorphins are the "feel good" chemicals in the body. You know that amazing post-exercise rush you get after a hard-core workout? That feeling is caused by the endorphins flowing through your system. The more endorphin releases you have on a daily basis, the happier you feel. Fortunately, there are ways to trigger this chemical release that are all-natural (and enjoyable as well). |

I can't believe we're already ten days into this project...are you happier yet? I hope so! Today's goal is to create your personal happy place. I know this sounds like something you would read about in a lame woman's magazine, but hear me out. Take one small area of your home/office/cardboard box and fill it with things that mean something to you. Things that you can look at and instantly feel better. Maybe you can add a smell that makes you happy-have you ever noticed that certain smells bring back vivid recollections? |
